How I can help
Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all. I draw from several evidence-based and experiential approaches, blending them in a way that fits your unique needs and goals. Below are brief descriptions of some of the modalities I use so you can get a sense of what our work together might look like.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
IFS helps us understand and care for the different “parts” of ourselves — like the inner critic, the anxious part, or the part that wants to shut down. Instead of fighting these parts, we approach them with compassion so they can relax and heal.
Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR)
Mindfulness Based Psychotherapy
EMDR is an evidence-based therapy for trauma that helps the brain and body process painful memories so they no longer feel overwhelming. It uses bilateral stimulation (like eye movements, tapping, or sound) to support healing and reduce emotional distress.
Pop Culture-Based Psychotherapy (Superhero Therapy)
In therapy sessions, I often use mindfulness practices to help you slow down, notice what’s happening in the present moment, and respond with greater clarity and calm. This approach strengthens your ability to stay grounded even when life feels chaotic.
Sometimes the best way to talk about our struggles is through stories we already love. Using pop culture — superheroes, movies, TV, or books — can make therapy more relatable and fun, while also helping us explore deeper truths about resilience, identity, and meaning.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
MBSR is an eight-week program that teaches practical skills to reduce stress and cope more skillfully with pain, anxiety, and difficult emotions. It combines meditation, gentle movement, and mindful awareness to bring more ease into daily life.
Relational Mindfulness (inspired by Nonviolent Communication)
Relational mindfulness is about bringing awareness, compassion, and presence into our relationships. Through mindful listening, honest expression, and practices inspired by Nonviolent Communication (NVC), we can learn to connect with others in ways that foster trust, empathy, and authenticity.
No matter which approach we use, the heart of our work is always the same: creating a safe, supportive space where you can feel seen, understood, and empowered to move toward healing and growth.
